Mas o Verdão do Oeste perdeu por 2 a 0 para o Operário-PR, em Ponta Grossa, e deixou ‘tudo igual’ para decidir quem ficará com o título da competição. O Fantasma, que já não tem mais objetivo no torneio, fez sua parte e manteve o bom rendimento dentro de seus domínios.

Caso conseguisse a vitória, a Chapecoense poderia ter a ‘vantagem’ do empate na última rodada para ficar com o título. Mas manteve os 70 pontos que o América-MG também possui, assim como as 19 vitórias e os 19 gols de saldo que cada equipe tem. Com isso, o Coelho acabou pulando para a liderança pelo terceiro critério de desempate que são os gols pró: são 41 dos mineiros contra 39 dos catarinenses.

RITMO LENTO ATÉ A METADE DO PRIMEIRO TEMPO

As equipes entraram em campo em ritmo lento, trocando passes sem agressividade para buscar jogadas de gol. Mas no quesito tentativa, a Chape chegava mais ao ataque. O Verdão do Oeste conseguiu chegar em dois levantamentos na área, mas sem perigo nenhum ao gol de Thiago Braga.

SUSTO COM ALEX SILVA

O lateral Alex Silva, do Operário, carregou a bola para tentar fazer a transição da defesa para o ataque e acabou sozinho pisando em falso onde torceu o tornozelo. Ele sentiu dores, tentou voltar, mas acabou substituído aos 20 minutos por Fábio Alemão. O camisa 2 foi flagrado pelo SporTV chorando no banco de reservas.

AÍ TEM ESTRELA…

Um minuto depois de entrar em campo no lugar de Alex Silva, Fábio Alemão tabelou com Ricardo Bueno e chutou da entrada da área, a bola foi forte e rasteira, e bateu na trave antes de morrer no fundo das redes. Foi o primeiro chute do Fantasma no jogo, que até então pouco dava trabalho para a Chapecoense.

Na volta do intervalo, Louzer mexeu duas vezes (entraram Roberto e Bruno Silva) para mudar a postura da Chapecoense. Mas ainda no começo do segundo tempo, o Verdão tomou um banho de água fria.

Rafael Oller recebeu um lindo passe de Thomaz e da entrada da área chutou no ângulo. Gol digno do apelido que o meio-campista recebeu da torcida do Fantasma, Marad’oller, que faz menção a Diego Maradona.

CHAPE COM DIFICULDADES

Com o 2 a 0 no placar, o Operário conseguiu fechar ainda mais seu setor defensivo e deu muito trabalho ao ataque da Chapecoense, que encontrava dificuldades para furar a barreira.

A posse de bola foi equilibrada, mas a a Chape conseguiu pressionar mais a partir dos 30 minutos com jogadas aéreas e por baixo e até com chutes perigosos. Mas nenhuma levou sucesso ao gol de Thiago Braga até o apito final do árbitro aos 50 minutos.

SEGUE O JOGO

Aos 43 minutos, Evandro bateu para o gol e a bola explodiu na defesa. Apesar dos jogadores pedirem pênalti, o árbitro marcou escanteio. Segundo o comentarista Sandro Meira Ricci, a bola tocou na barriga do defensor do Operário.

But Saturday's 3-0 home defeat to Bournemouth underscored the glaring issues that threaten to spiral the club's campaign into the abyss, with the vertiginous gulf between United and their Manchester neighbours, along with Arsenal and Liverpool, pretty staggering.

Rasmus Hojlund, aged 20, completed a £72m transfer to Old Trafford in the summer and is unquestionably a talent of immense potential, though the cogs are not clicking yet and he has blanked across all 11 Premier League appearances – though he has scored five in five in the Champions League.

According to Sky Sports Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg, Manchester United have enquired about the availability of Stuttgart's red-hot striker Serhou Guirassy, who may be allowed to leave the Bundesliga in January but for no less than €20m (£17m).

This follows transfer news from Football Insider earlier in the week, claiming that United should now be considered frontrunners for the Guinean's signature – alongside Newcastle United – after Tottenham Hotspur, West Ham, Fulham and Aston Villa had initially been credited with an interest.

The 27-year-old is believed to be open to holding winter discussions with Manchester United, though is happy to remain with Stuttgart until the summer, currently third in the German top-flight and boasting a five-point cushion over fifth-placed Borussia Dortmund.

Serhou Guirassy's season in numbers

Guirassy, simply, has been in unbelievable form throughout the 2023/24 campaign so far, having plundered 18 goals from 13 matches across all competitions – including 16 from 11 in the Bundesliga.

For reference, Harry Kane, who has been widely praised for tearing German football apart since departing Tottenham Hotspur for Bayern Munich in the summer, has scored 18 league goals, just two more than Guirassy.

Heralded for his "outrageous hot streak" by The Athletic's Seb Stafford-Bloor, the £36k-per-week goal machine has built considerably after displaying flashes of top-class quality last term, scoring 14 times from 29 matches during the 2022/23 campaign – including 11 from 20 starts in the Bundesliga.

As per Sofascore, he has been astounding in his relentlessness, averaging 3.7 shots per game in the league, also completing 81% of his passes and creating 1.7 key passes each outing.

Serhou Guirassy's style of play

Clearly a brilliant goalscorer, the 6 foot 2 Guirassy is not just a target man and would offer a myriad of qualities to improve Manchester United's frontline, crisp and commanding as the focal frontman and eager to influence the play with his distribution.

There's an element of selflessness too, which is an interesting trait for one so prolific, and he has been dubbed an "incredible" player by journalist Dean Jones for his efforts.

As per FBref, the Guinea international ranks among the top 1% of forwards across Europe's top five leagues over the past year for goals scored, the top 13% for shot-creating actions, the top 8% for pass completion and the top 14% for touches in the attacking penalty area per 90.

Interestingly, Manchester City's world-class talisman Erling Haaland is listed as a comparable player to the in-form star, and it certainly wouldn't be a half-bad acquisition to sign a clinical presence to rival the Norwegian machine.

In fact, Guirassy is actually outscoring Haaland in league football this season, with the 23-year-old posting 14 strikes from 15 Premier League appearances.

Of course, Haaland is arguably the best centre-forward in the world and is definitely the best out-and-out goalscorer, but Guirassy's cutting edge is something that United have been lacking this term and if he could emulate that on English shores, Ten Hag might have the means to craft a truly excellent end to a campaign that has ebbed and flowed to this point.

How Guirassy compares to Martial

Should Manchester United succeed in signing Guirassy, Ten Hag could finally axe long-time servant Anthony Martial, who remains a regular presence in the matchday squad despite failing to impress for considerable time now.

Across 18 appearances, the once-prodigious talent has only scored two goals and supplied two assists this season, and has even been branded a "humongous waste of talent” by former professional Craig Burley.

Since the start of the 2020/21 campaign, Martial has actually only scored 20 goals across all competitions, including just 12 in the Premier League.

It's not good enough and it's not what Ten Hag needs to bridge the gap between his side and the likes of Manchester City, Arsenal and Liverpool at the forefront of the Premier League.

Hojlund, it's worth noting, has bags of potential and could bloom into a formidable attacking force in years to come, but with the experienced Guirassy serving as a counterweight up top, United could find the weapon needed to fire them into first-class form.

Spurs have enjoyed an excellent start to the Premier League season overall, and would arguably be even higher up the table if not for a plethora of key player absences.

James Maddison and Micky van de Ven, who started the campaign in electric form, were sidelined from November 4th onwards with serious injuries. Their lack of presence was seriously felt, with Spurs going on to lose four of their next five top flight matches.

Van de Ven's time-out has been particularly detrimental. A suspension for Cristian Romero at one point meant Postecoglou was often forced to play full-backs Emerson Royal and Ben Davies at the heart of his defence.

As a result, Tottenham prioritising a centre-back signing in January. It's thought to be their main goal for the January transfer window, and one man who's been very heavily-linked is Nice defender Jean-Clair Todibo.

The 23-year-old, who's been in fine form for the Ligue 1 side as they contend near the top with PSG. is a top target for Spurs and Fabrizio Romano has even backed the club's serious interest.

Agents send Todibo message to Spurs

Club-to-club talks have apparently been held, as well as with agents. Now, 90min have an update on this, and they claim the defender's representatives have told Tottenham what they need to sign Todibo in January.

Intermediaries have apparently explained to Postecoglou's side that a package of £35 million could be enough to prise the France international away from Nice mid-season.

Todibo's employees, and the player himself, are becoming open to joining Tottenham as they currently pursue a deal for him. The centre-half's £35m price in particular is seen as a huge draw for the club.

Amid his brilliant performances for Nice, former Arsenal star Aaron Ramsey is among the players to have heaped praise on Todibo and his serious potential.

“Jean-Clair is a very interesting character; he’s very confident and he’s a great guy around the dressing room and he’s a very, very talented player, who can go all the way to the top. For him, it is important to keep his feet on the ground, strive for more, and take in as much information as possible,” said Ramsey (via Get French Football News).

He continued: “He’s playing alongside one of the most experienced players in Dante, who has played at the very highest level now for a number of years. For Jean-Clair to have that experience next to him is invaluable. He’s a great guy, a great player and very ambitious."

Joe Burns creamed Australia’s first Test hundred of the summer, ending the day in sight of a double, Travis Head cracked a big maiden ton himself before Kurtis Patterson played himself in against the second new ball, and as Australia finished day one of the first ever Test at Manuka Oval on 4 for 384, it was difficult to believe that they had been 3 for 28 in the first hour.That Burns and Head were able to motor Australia to such an emphatic recovery through their 308-run stand after the first 10 overs had been so dire, is testament not only to their positivity and concentration, but also to the serious limitations of this Sri Lanka attack, on what seemed a rapidly-flattening pitch. With spearhead Suranga Lakmal ruled out of this Test with a stiff back, Sri Lanka lost all three of the quicks that played at the Gabba (Dushmantha Chameera and Lahiru Kumara had already returned home with series-ending injuries), and were forced instead to rely on a profoundly inexperienced seam attack.Kasun Rajitha, with three previous Tests to his name, provided the most discipline from among the frontline quicks, but could not muster a breakthrough in his 20 overs. Vishwa Fernando, who had played two previous Tests, claimed the wickets of two left-handers in his first spell, and later trapped Head in front of the stumps for 161, but went at over five runs an over. Chamika Karunaratne removed Marnus Labuschagne with his fourth ball in international cricket, but was toothless once the early swing and seam had disappeared, and was thumped around to the tune of over a run-a-ball over his 14 overs.So rapidly did Australia advance during the second and third sessions, that at times in the day, their run rate would have been excellent in an ODI. In the 16 overs between the 57th and 73rd, for example, 110 runs were made – a rate of 6.88. Only the wicket of Head right at the end of that period brought Sri Lanka some mild reprieve. That dismissal, also, was more the result of a lapse in concentration from Head, than of good bowling.Burns, who finished the day on 172 not out off 243 balls, cautiously gritted out the first 15 overs, while at the other end, Marcus Harris and Usman Khawaja fell driving loosely at Fernando outswingers. Eventually, when the swing disappeared, and he was joined at the crease by Head following Labuschagne’s dismissal, Burns warmed rapidly to his work, taking especial pleasure in cracking the quicks square of the wicket on the offside, whenever they offered even a hint of width.All day long, he picked them off in that area, 15 of his 27 fours coming in the arc between cover and backward point. He was dropped once, at slip on on 34, trying to punch offspinner Dilruwan Perera too close to the body, but was largely secure apart from that indiscretion. The pull shot also featured heavily in his innings, as Sri Lanka’s bowlers continued to dig balls in short. Twice, he also came down the pitch against Dilruwan to hit him to the straight boundary.Left-hander Head was also strong square on his off side, but also found the midwicket region bountiful – particularly when the short-pitched bowling on a slow track failed to surprise him as the bowlers had hoped. The first, of course was Burns’ reprieve, when Dhananjaya de Silva at slip failed to hold on to a shoulder-height catch in the half hour before lunch. Then just before tea Dilruwan, at gully, grassed a slash from Head, who was 87 at the time. De Silva would go on to drop Head again after tea – that mistake costing Sri Lanka no more than six runs.Then, soon after Head departed, perhaps the worst error of the day. When Patterson offered a straightforward bat-pad chance to short leg off the first delivery he faced, Lahiru Thirimanne grabbed at the ball, let it hit him on the wrist, then drop to the floor. Patterson would go on to finish at 25 not out off 48 balls, having seen through the first 10 overs of the second new ball, and having forged a partnership worth 48 so far, with Burns.

وقالت الشبكة في تقريرها المطول: “بعد 3 مباريات في الموسم الجديد من الدوري الإنجليزي، سجل محمد صلاح 3 أهداف، وصنع مثلها، منذ انتقاله إلى ليفربول في عام 2017، كان دائمًا أحد أكثر المهاجمين تدميرًا في الدوري، لكن بالنظر إلى الحجم الهائل من الفرص التي يصنعها، يُعد تذكيرًا بأن صلاح أكثر من مجرد هداف”.

وشددت: “لكن أرقامه من حيث الإبداع تظل متسقة بشكل لا يُصدق تقريبًا، ففي جميع مواسمه السبع مع ليفربول باستثناء موسم واحد، خلق ما بين 103 و106 فرص لزميل في الفريق، وهناك بعض التباين لأنه لعب مباريات أكثر في بعض المواسم من أخرى”.

ولم تكتفِ الشبكة بذلك، بل أضافت: “كما أن التمريرات الحاسمة التي يصنعها محمد صلاح من اللعب المفتوح مثيرة للاهتمام، يمكن التدقيق في تلك الخريطة الخاصة بمواقع التمريرات الحاسمة التي قدمها صلاح في الدوري الإنجليزي والتي بلغ عددها 72 تمريرة”.

واسترسلت: “يتم لعب أغلب التمريرات الحاسمة من قِبل محمد صلاح بقدمه اليسرى المفضلة (النقاط الحمراء)، وخاصة تلك التمريرات من مواقع عميقة نسبيًا، حيث يمكنه الالتفاف إلى الداخل وتمرير الكرات البينية من الخلف، في حين أن التمريرات الحاسمة بالقدم اليمنى (الأزرق) والقدم اليسرى من الخارج (الأصفر) تتم دائمًا من قرب خط التماس، عندما يتقدم صلاح إلى الخط أكثر. وهذا منطقي”.

وأوضحت: “وإذا نظرنا إلى مواقع التمريرات الحاسمة التي قدمها محمد صلاح في مواسم مختلفة، فمن الواضح أن تلك التي قدمها بالقدم اليمنى هي تطور حديث نسبيًا، وإذا قسمنا التمريرات الحاسمة التي قدمها صلاح في ليفربول والتي بلغ عددها 71 تمريرة إلى نصفين ــ تمريرة واحدة جاءت مع تشيلسي ــ فسوف تجد أنه في حين تم لعب ثلاث تمريرات فقط من أول 36 تمريرة بقدمه اليمنى، فإن تسع تمريرات من أصل 35 تمريرة أخرى كانت بتلك القدم”.
