O peruano Christian Cueva não joga mais pelo São Paulo. O jogador foi sondado pelo Orlando City, dos Estados Unidos, e também pelo Independiente, da Argentina, nos últimos dias. Seu desejo de jogar no Velho Continente, no entanto, pesou na negociação.

Contratado em junho de 2016 por R$ 8,8 milhões, Cueva fez 87 partidas oficiais e anotou 20 gols. O meio-campista chegou a ser um dos líderes do elenco, mas caiu de produção e teve problemas disciplinares com a diretoria. A conduta do peruano foi determinante para sua saída.

O Corinthians jogará pela terceira vez neste Brasileirão às 11h. Apesar de saber que normalmente são dois jogos de manhã durante todo o campeonato, a diretoria não reclamou da mudança. A partida contra o Vasco estava marcada para sábado, às 19h, em São Januário, mas o clube carioca pediu a mudança para domingo, às 11h, no Mané Garrincha, em Brasília.

Os jogadores não gostam de atuar às 11h, principalmente por conta da alimentação de manhã, mas diretoria e comissão técnica viram pontos positivos na mudança da partida. Isso porque o elenco terá uma noite a mais de descanso após ter enfrentado o Cruzeiro na última quarta-feira, e o estádio é “neutro” – a expectativa é de que tenha bastante corintianos no Mané Garrincha.

Em entrevista coletiva na sexta-feira, antes da viagem a Brasília, o atacante Romero explicou por que não gosta de jogos às 11h. A CBF passou a marcar jogos de manhã desde o Brasileirão de 2015.

– A preparação é diferente. Primeiro porque você não se alimenta bem. Tem que acordar cedo e já se alimentar, mas o corpo ainda está mole. Temos que estar ligados já na hora que acordamos, mas o corpo ainda não está acordado ainda, e temos que jogar às 11h. É difícil, mas é o que temos pela frente. Eu já joguei alguns jogos às 11h, então não tem desculpas, temos que enfrentar esse jogo com muita responsabilidade – disse Romero.

O Corinthians já atuou duas vezes às 11h neste Brasileirão. Na segunda rodada, goleou o Paraná por 4 a 0, em Curitiba. Já na quarta rodada, empatou por 1 a 1 com o Ceará, na Arena em Itaquera.

Gautam Gambhir has said that the Indian team has earned the criticism they are receiving back home through their performance, and that to be the No. 1 Test side in the world again they will have to find ways to win away from home.”I am not someone who will hesitate to take responsibility,” Gambhir said. “I think we have not played well. I will be the first one to accept it. If we want to be the No. 1 Test-playing nation in the world, we have to do well overseas. That has been always my stand. You have to do well in England, South Africa and Australia.”Whatever backlash is happening in India, we are ready to accept it. We have given the opportunity to people back home to give whatever they are giving [us]. There is a lot of expectation from us, that we should have done well. And with the kind of batting line-up we have, we should have done well.”Gambhir said that the side was looking forward to the Adelaide Test, and the triangular ODI series that follows. “It is disappointing but the mood is absolutely fine,” Gambhir said. “When you are playing for your country and there is another Test match coming around in six days, you need to be up for it. I know things haven’t gone our way, but still we need to be positive. There is a one-day series coming up. Hopefully we can play well in Adelaide, and take the momentum into the one-day series. When you are playing for your country you still have to turn out and be positive, and try and look at it as a new Test and try to win.”Gambhir had a terrible start to the series with his first three innings, brief ones, ending in pokes outside off. He began to leave the ball better from the second innings in Sydney onwards. His 83 is the highest score for an Indian batsman in the series, but he knows it is not enough to compete in Test matches. “We have got starts but we have not been able to convert them into big hundreds,” Gambhir said. “Everyone in the top seven have got half-centuries, but they are not able to convert it into big hundreds. That is where we have been lacking. These things happen, and we are working hard and hopefully things turn around. We have seen things turn around very soon in international cricket, and hopefully Adelaide is the place where it turns around.”Gambhir, though, said the whole batting unit takes the responsibility for the failure, and that the openers or VVS Laxman should not be criticised in isolation. “It’s not just the openers or the middle order,” he said. “We need to combine as a unit. All batsmen need to play well, and all have to take responsibility. When you fail, you fail as a unit.”Opening [the innings] is very important, and when you can give a good start obviously it helps the entire batting unit, but there will be times when you will not be doing well. I will always be the first one to take responsibility that I could not live up to the expectations of people back home, and that’s something I need to answer [for]. The kind of expectations the common man has from me, that is where I need to be answerable. I need to accept that responsibility. Things can really turn around quickly.”One of the seven batsmen who have scored fifties is Virender Sehwag, and he will be captaining the side in Adelaide in MS Dhoni’s absence. However, Gambhir said the magic turnaround doesn’t have to come from the captain, but from the whole side. “The captain is only as good as his team,” he said. “There have been no great captains, and captains don’t make a difference, it’s the XI that makes the difference. MS has done a great job, it’s just that the entire team has not performed. It’s not just MS, it’s the entire team that has to take blame. With Viru coming in as the skipper, it’s still the 11 people who have to perform.”

Os dias que vêm por aí prometem fortes emoções no Botafogo, no campo e nos bastidores. Até porque, apesar de serem apenas quatro jogos, os números terríveis da equipe sob o comando de Marcos Paquetá dão ao jogo contra o Nacional-PAR mais importância ainda. O resultado da partida, além do jogo seguinte, contra o Santos, no sábado, podem decretar o fim da passagem do treinador pelo Glorioso.

Logo após a derrota para o Internacional, dirigentes e personagens influentes do grupo da atual diretoria alvinegra, o “Mais Botafogo”, passaram a receber forte pressão pela demissão imediata do comandante. Como se percebe, não houve sinalização pela queda do treinador. Todavia, um resultado ruim nesta quarta-feira deixa o treinador ainda mais a perigo. O duelo do fim de semana é igualmente decisivo.

A diretoria se vê num momento de sofrer com muitas críticas e poucas opções. Em termos de reforços, já declarou que não contratará enquanto houver salários atrasados. E caso demita Marcos Paquetá – que já havia sido uma opção fora dos nomes frequentes da primeira divisão brasileira -, o mercado está restrito. Porém, o mesmo grupo político vem sendo criticado pela oposição e por sócios do clube por uma postura autoritária, especialmente durante as reuniões. Após a última, por exemplo, Mauro Sodré, candidato a vice-presidente na chapa derrotada na última eleição, mostrou indignação com o tempo de fala ao qual teve direito.

Tanto que, nesta segunda-feira, ele encaminhou carta (confira na galeria acima) ao presidente do Conselho Deliberativo do clube, Jorge Aurélio Domingues, reclamando do que chamou de “comportamentos inadequados”. Presidente que já havia perdido um dos vices, Luiz Octavio Vieira. Ele renunciou ao cargo por divergências parelhas às expostas na carta de Sodré. Em comum, a postura aparentemente partidária da casa.

Na última segunda-feira, Jorge Aurélio Domingues concedeu entrevista à Rádio Brasil. Na conversa, ele defendeu os atuais dirigentes e afirmou que a atual gestão do clube alvinegro tem sido marcada pela possibilidade de entendimento com a oposição.

– Eles estão sempre abertos a compor e receber a oposição, mas ela é que não se apresenta. Conversar, trocar ideias não tem problema. As gestões do Carlos Eduardo Pereira e do Nelson Mufarrej estão sempre abertas. Naquele dia mesmo da reunião a gente viu declarações utópicas. Precisamos de coisas práticas. Afirmo que estão todos abertos a conversas com a oposição – decretou Jorge Aurélio.

England’s pace bowlers then responded by reducing the ICC XI to 8 for 3 before they recovered to extend their lead to 186 at the close.Having yesterday fought back from 90 for 6 to post a decent first-innings total, the ICC XI continued to provide England with tough opposition in the build-up to their Test series against Pakistan. Hamid Hassan, the Afghanistan pace bowler, took two early wickets before injuring himself with a fall over the boundary fence and during the second session England lost six further wickets. Cook was sixth out for a well-compiled 76 but no one else passed 19 and a more convincing effort will be required in the run chase.England had started the day on 16 without loss and the opening stand moved to 44 when Andrew Strauss pulled Hassan to square leg. It didn’t take long for Hassan to double his tally when Jonathan Trott glanced a catch down the leg side but Cook, in the company of Kevin Pietersen, steadied England to 98 for 2 at lunch.However, any thoughts of a steady day of accumulation for the top order vanished after the break. وتعادل منتخب مصر مع موزمبيق، في إطار منافسات الجولة الأولى من مباريات المجموعة الأولى لبطولة أمم إفريقيا للشباب المقامة في مصر.

وقال إيشو خلال تصريحات في المؤتمر الصحفي بعد المباراة: “لاعبو مصر رجال، نعتذر للجماهير، كنا نتمنى أن نحقق المكسب، ولكن لم يحدث نصيب”.

ورداً على سؤال مراسل “بطولات”: كيف ترى مواجهة نيچيريا المقبلة وتعليقه على تصريح محمود جابر أنه كان هناك مشكلة في إنهاء الهجمات، أوضح: “منتخب نيچيريا منتخب كبير ومصنف ولكن نحن منتخب مصر، والمباراة ستكون مصيرية”.

وأتم: “أتفق مع كابتن محمود جابر أنه كان يوجد مشكلة في إنهاء الهجمات رغم الاستحواذ في مباراة اليوم أمام موزمبيق”.
