Manchester United’s plans this window have become extremely evident under Ruben Amorim, with key additions being targeted in various areas of the pitch.

The Red Devils have already spent big on Matheus Cunha this window, forking out £62.5m to sign the Brazilian from fellow Premier League outfit Wolverhampton Wanderers.

However, their moves in the transfer market have shown no signs of slowing down, with various names mentioned across the board ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.

Goalkeepers, defenders, and midfielders have all been on their radar, but the attacking department is the one that is in need of investment – as seen by their pursuit of numerous players this window.

The prospect of Cunha being partnered with multiple other elite-level stars, continuously being linked with big-money moves to Old Trafford during the off-season.

The latest on United’s hunt for new attackers this summer

Moise Kean is a striker who’s been firmly on the radar, with the Italian having a £44m release clause that becomes active from the 1st of July – a potential bargain given his record of 19 Serie A goals this season.

Antoine Semenyo is another option within the final third, potentially leading to a battle with Tottenham Hotspur, with the Lilywhites also firmly in the race to land the Ghanaian amid his £65m asking price.

However, another name has entered the mix over the last couple of days, as West Ham United star
Mohammed Kudus has emerged as a potential target, according to the BBC’s Sami Mokbel.

He claims that the Red Devils have already made an enquiry to the Hammers over a deal for the winger, who currently has a £85m release clause in his contract.

Mokbel also states that Graham Potter’s side are likely to accept a figure below his clause, but could face keen competition from Arsenal, who have a long-standing interest in the 24-year-old.

Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo has been a player who has constantly been linked with a move to join United this summer, as Amorim looks to bolster his attacking department at the Theatre of Dreams.

However, a deal could finally be edging towards a conclusion, after the hierarchy made a second offer in the region of £60m for the 25-year-old’s signature.

He’s already agreed personal terms over a switch to join the Red Devils, but the minor details need to be ironed out before the Cameroonian international can complete his move this summer.

Whilst it may appear to be an expensive deal at around £60m, Mbeumo would provide the added threat the club have been hunting for, after he netted 20 league goals this season – the most from any player whose side didn’t qualify for Europe.

However, it remains to be seen if the Red Devils will pursue a move for Kudus if the Brentford talisman moved to the Theatre of Dreams, but any deal for the Hammers star would also be a superb addition.

When comparing the pair’s respective stats from the recent season, the Ghanaian has managed to outperform him in numerous key areas, potentially handing Amorim another sensational option in the final third.

Kudus, who’s been labelled a “generational” talent by journalist Gary Al-Smith, has posted the same tally of goals per shot on target this season, having the ability to cause havoc in front of goal alongside him at Old Trafford.

He’s managed to complete more of his passes this campaign, whilst making more passes into the final third per 90, having the creative output that could see him shine alongside Mbeumo.

The Hammers star has also thrived in the take-on department, completing more per 90 and achieving a higher success rate – highlighting his desire to take the ball forward at any given moment.

After the arrival of Cunha and pending the move for the Bees’ talent, it remains to be seen if the Red Devils will actively make a move for another attacking talent this window.

However, that being said, Kudus has all the attributes to add the needed quality and depth to such a department, helping bring that fear factor back to the club that has been desperately lacking in recent seasons.

Forsyth played 39 times for the Rams in the Championship last season, as they avoided relegation to League One. In those appearances, the defender managed to score an impressive three goals and grab four assists. This latest contract will see Forsyth extend his football career to 20 years, and this contract will also see Derby support him in getting his coaching qualifications.

As Eustace decides to keep valuable experience in his defence, in a fan forum held at Pride Park, the Derby boss has revealed that signing new attackers is a priority for the club this summer, given their lack of goals last season.

Eustace said, via BBC Sport: “I’d love to play a back four, some exciting attacking wingers and two good strikers.”

This comes as the Rams have agreed a deal with Luton Town to sign striker Carlton Morris, who is set to undergo his medical once he returns from holiday.

The arrivals at Pride Park don’t look to be stopping there, as according to Football League World, Derby are keen on signing midfielder Jon Russell from League One side Barnsley.

Russell, who is a former Chelsea academy graduate, has been with the Tykes since January 2023, when he joined from Huddersfield Town.

Hailed as a “world-class superstar” by his Real teammate Luka Modric, Rodrygo must be desperate to step away from the shadow of Vinicius Junior and Kylian Mbappe and begin to forge a new future for himself in the Premier League, where he could light up English football on the left flank.

Though he rarely features off the left, Rodrygo believes it is his best position, and when assessing his data from last term, it’s clear to see why.

Bukayo Saka has Arsenal’s right wing on lock, so it makes perfect sense to sign Rodrygo and give him the keys to the position he so desperately wants to nail down. Should Arteta make it happen, we could see some of the “terrifyingly good” finishing the Brazilian is capable of, as has been said by journalist Sam Tighe.

Such potency could see Rodrygo prove an even better fit than Williams, bringing many of the Spaniard’s electric qualities to the table but providing a sharper goalscoring sense too.

As per FBref, Rodrygo ranked among the top 2% of attacking midfielders and wingers across Europe’s top five leagues last season for pass completion and the top 14% for progressive carries per 90.

Such technical and athletic qualities have actually seen Williams drawn against him as one of his most statistically similar players, so it’s clear he would be a stylistic fit for the Gunners.

Given the need to add goals to Arsenal’s game, Arteta and Berta might be better off forging ahead with a deal for Rodrygo, who only missed one big chance in La Liga last term, scoring six goals.

A new challenge would serve him well, and he’d prove to be a superior choice to Williams while bringing a similar profile. Let’s get it done.

Still reeling from their failure to qualify for the Champions League, Aston Villa have instantly set their sights on summer upgrades which could reportedly include a defender who has won it all in English football.

It’s fair to say that Aston Villa went all in on Champions League qualification, knowing that failure would have its consequences – that failure simply couldn’t be an option. Villa slammed the decision, which they feel cost them their Champions League place, citing that a more experienced referee should have been in charge of such an important game, rather than 35-year-old Thomas Bramall.

Whether the blame truly lies with Bramall or Villa, themselves, for missing out on a place in the top five is not the question those in the Midlands should be answering, however. Instead, they should turn their focus towards how they’re going to navigate their way past increasing profit and sustainability concerns.

The potential arrival of Palhinha could change such a situation, handing the side the needed ball-winning option that’s been desperately needed over recent months.

Jofra Archer had tears in his eyes as he surveyed the scene at Kensington Oval, about to represent England but, for the first time, in his motherland. When his name was announced at the start of the second over, his first in the match against Scotland, the cheering could hardly have been louder or warmer than if he had been wearing maroon.The loudest applause came from a large group of children in yellow uniforms, students of Archer’s , Christ Church Foundation. They had been given the day off lessons, along with students from Chris Jordan’s former school, to join friends and family and fans alike in welcoming the not-so-old boys home.”Yeah, it was a little bit emotional,” Archer said, speaking at Windward Cricket Club, just a stone’s throw from his Barbados home. “I had a little bit of water in my eye, a bit of a cry but I was just settling.”The prime minister invited us up to the box when [the match] got cancelled, but she said she pretty much cancelled school, and CJ’s old school, so the kids could come and watch us. It was really, really emotional. As I said earlier, I had a little bit of water in my eye and it wasn’t the rain. It was really, really nice. I saw a clip of one of the reporters as well – she went to primary school with me – and she was going around to people in the ground, by the statue, and that was touching. I felt really supported. I felt unbelievable.”Archer had avoided talking to the media ahead the game, preferring to concentrate on getting his return to Barbados under his belt.”Once you get the first ball out of the way, any nerves are gone,” he said. “You tend to forget everything else and just focus. I feel that’s the best way. There’s so much surrounding the cricket before you bowl a ball. So much goes into playing a game.”Certainly, a lot has gone into getting Archer ready for this tournament, so great is his value to the England side. I’ve been fit since November,” he said. “I’ve just been trying not to do too much or too little. Just trying to be okay for this period, for this summer. Just really glad that everything seems to be going all right. Not just this tour but to finish the summer and continue playing a part. Obviously it’s been a while. I don’t know how much rehab I have in me.”He signed a two-year contract with the ECB in October – he was offered three years but turned it down – and was anxious to return to the fold and repay the faith shown by England Men’s Managing Director, Rob Key.”I found it a little bit worrying, not really frustrating, because I was able to spend most of my rehab here,” he said. “I only live 150 metres from this ground right now, so being able to do your rehab, just get away from the noise back in the UK, was really good. I made a joke with Keysy as well earlier. I said ‘I’m really glad I’m back playing because I reckon I would have lost my contract in October’. In March, Archer played his first competitive cricket since his elbow injury in Barbados. He felt he was fully fit from the first of five club matches. But it wasn’t until he bowled against Pakistan at the Oval in the fifth T20I that he knew his body was up to the rigours of international cricket.”It’s alright to train and it’s alright to play in games here, but to get that last 10% intensity and [feel] actually, the body is okay. You know when you are able to step it up and the body takes it, then that’s really, really refreshing.”Archer will not play Test cricket this summer.
